How to
Sell the Best
If there is an ‘up-sell’ opportunity on the battery type that is required, you need to ask the owner of the vehicle some questions to understand their battery requirements based on their driving style.
Ask direct questions that will allow you to evaluate the requirements. Remember:
• Be polite and smile
• Speak slowly and clearly and don’t use technical jargon
• Explain yourself and your enquiries in a way that the customer understands
• Listen carefully to the responses
• Keep quiet and don’t interrupt
• Ensure you understand what they are saying
• Don’t attempt to answer any questions if you’re not sure – nd the answer out, remember you can always call / email our Customer Services department.
It is important to maximise the pro t opportunity of each sale. The ‘up-sell’ generates more pro t for you and it is also better value for money for the customer as they have a battery which is matched to their individual needs and will last longer.
The key is to help the customer to understand the impact of their driving style on the battery.
To help, we have created 5 simple questions to aid the ‘up sell’.
Is your vehicle engine size over 1.5 ltr?
Do you use chargeable in-car accessories, such as;
mobile phones, sat-nav, in car DVD systems or MP3 players?
Do you frequently drive in peak time traf c around towns or cities?
Do you leave your car parked outside overnight?
Would you like to select a battery with optimum guarantee cover included?
If the customer answers YES to one, or more, of the above, the battery best suited to their needs is the QH Powerbox Extra.
You can use the previous question examples to help the customer to understand why a better battery is necessary.
It is likely that the customer doesn’t know where to start when it comes to batteries, so by asking them the right questions, you can help them to make an informed decision.
